Our shipping costs can sometimes be higher than other retail sites for three reasons:
- Outdoor Prolink does not have a warehouse, instead, we use a process called "drop shipping." When you place an order, we process that order and pass it along to our manufacturers. They then pack and ship your order from their own warehouse, incurring their own tracking numbers and shipping fees. If you order products from multiple manufacturers at once, each manufacturer's shipping costs will be added to your cart.
- We have to charge actual ship costs. Most retailers are able to subsidize their shipping costs, charging less to the end consumer when their products are sold at MSRP. Because our manufacturers are already offering a deep discount on their gear - often between 35% and 50% off MSRP - they don't have as much "wiggle room" to cover shipping costs.
- Depending on the brand, shipping is calculated by item. Figuring the size and weight of each item, the zone to which it's shipped, and historical averages, we forecast actual ship costs for orders prior to the shipment actually taking place. Sometimes these forecasts can be slightly off, resulting in a higher than normal ship cost.
We know that our shipping calculations are not always perfect. If you're ordering large quantities of small items (such as carabiners, quickdraws, socks, etc.) please place the order, and email the order number to info@outdoorprolink.com. We will then look into our shipping invoices after all items have been delivered for the actual cost. If there is a difference, we will refund your card that amount.
