Are you looking to place an order, but the ship costs pumped the brakes? Here are a few reasons those costs look a bit high:
- Outdoor Prolink does not have a warehouse, instead, we use a process called "drop shipping." When you place an order, we process that order and pass it along to our manufacturers. They then pack and ship your order from their own warehouse, incurring their own tracking numbers and shipping fees. If you order products from multiple manufacturers at once, each manufacturer's shipping costs will be added to your cart.
- We have to charge actual ship costs. Most retailers are able to subsidize their shipping costs, charging less to the end consumer when their products are sold at MSRP. Because our manufacturers are already offering a deep discount on their gear - often between 35% and 50% off MSRP - they don't have as much "wiggle room" to cover shipping costs.
- Depending on the brand, shipping is calculated by item. Figuring the size and weight of each item, the zone to which it's shipped, and historical averages, we forecast actual ship costs for orders prior to the shipment actually taking place.
A moderate weight package to the lower 48 generally starts at $14 and go up per manufacturer based on where it's shipping and the dimensional weight. This excludes AK & HI as the charge may be higher.
If you placed an order and the costs are higher than this, we will be happy to look into our shipping invoices for the actual cost. If there is a difference, we will refund your card that amount. Once the order is delivered (which is when UPS invoices us for the shipping) All you need to do is email us the order #, and we'll look into the costs after all items have been delivered.
